We have been going a little pom pom crazy here the past week or so 🙂  The boys have been itching for something to do so I came up with these adorable Pom Pom Easter Bunnies. I had it in my head how I thought they were going to look but you guys…seriously!  They turned out so much cuter!! They are like little stuffed animals that you can personalize to your heart’s content.

Bryce has adopted the white one and his name is “Comfy”… nothing like a descriptive name right? Reece is torn between the gray and the green bunnies – he doesn’t realize that he can have two 🙂  He takes naming his animals very seriously so we are still waiting on names for those two. I had to make a little pink bunny – so cute!

5 SECRETS TO GETTING DINNER ON THE TABLE...FAST!

  • Yarn – color of your choice
  • hot glue
  • felt – for ears
  • googly eyes
  • small, store-bought pom poms – for nose, tail, cheeks
  • ribbon – optional

So the first thing you’re going to want to do is make two pom poms – one larger than the other. {If this is your first pom pom craft with me, head on over to the tutorial page to learn how to make pom poms.}  I did a 4-finger and 3-finger pom pom for these guys. Cut out two outer ear shapes and one inner ear shape for each bunny. Glue those two pieces together as shown. I used hot glue.

Now it’s time to glue the two pom poms together. Think about how your bunny is going to look and then find the spot you want to glue. Pull the yarn away exposing the center of the pom pom. Repeat with the other pom pom. Glue together with hot glue. {Forgive me for using a red pom pom for this – the picture that I took while making the bunnies was even worse…}

This is how the bunny should look now:

Now it’s time to glue on the ears, eyes, nose and cheeks. For the ears you will want to pull the yarn apart and stick the ears as close to the center as possible. This keeps the ears stable and it looks more natural. You could add teeth and whiskers here too but the boys vetoed that 🙂 Starting to look like a bunny!

And that’s it! You’ve just made a Pom Pom Easter Bunny!
